If a student does not pass a Session, that Session will be marked as failed for reporting purposes. The student can retake the Session immediately following their first complete attempt, or at a later time. A link to retake the Session will display on the completion page and on the student’s dashboard. The student may log back into the Counseling Center at their discretion to retake the Session using the link on their dashboard.
Students are provided with their pass rate at the end of each session. During the Session, students have three (3) chances to answer each question correctly. In order to score 100%, a student must answer each question correctly on their first attempt of the question. They will receive partial credit if they answer a question correctly on their second or third attempt. At the end of the Session, students are advised of their score and whether they have passed, according to the Session's passing rate. Their score is recorded in the Counseling Center.
At the beginning of the Session, students are presented with instructions about how the Session works. In these instructions, students are informed of the passing score for the Session. If students do not pass the Session, they will be informed again of the passing score as well as their score.
The default passing rate is 85%, unless otherwise determined by the school as part of the Counseling Center setup. To change a passing rate, please contact your FATV Account Manager.
Students who pass are immediately congratulated on the Session completion page and sent an email confirming completion, and their Counseling Center dashboard will show that the Session was successfully completed. Students who do not pass are informed of their score on the completion page and invited to re-take the Session which they can do immediately or at a later date.
FATV compares the pre-test to the post-test score for all completed Sessions. The percentage improvement is the difference between the two scores.
Students are given three (3) opportunities to answer a Session question correctly. Pre-tests are an exception because the pre-test score is only used to determine improvement. Students are given only one chance to answer pre-test questions.
If you successfully passed the Session, then you will immediately see a congratulations notification on the Session completion page and be sent an email confirming completion. If you did not pass the Session, then you will be informed of your score on the Session completion page and will be invited to re-take the Session immediately or at any other time when you log back in.
